Seventh Week Blog Post for Project

Image
Project Blog Week Seven: This  is my seventh blog post for my modeling project, I started to make the first of three teddy bears for my toy shop scene. Having nearly completed the first bear I only had to create the eyes and group the objects together.  Firstly I made the eyes by shrinking down a sphere shape and then placing it about half way down the head.  The next thing I needed to do was to group the head, ears, arms, body and legs together and then make another group for the paws and snout, then I duplicated this to create two more teddy bears. I then had to choose a colour scheme for each bear.  I started with the eyes, making one set black and grey, another blue and grey and for the third I chose a pale green and grey. For the fur on the first teddy bear which had  the black eyes, I decided on a dark brown with lighter brown paws and   snout, the bear with the blue eyes I thought a lighter cream colour with white paws and snout woul...

Sixth Week Blog Post for Project

Project Blog Week Six: This is my sixth blog post for my modeling project, I have started to make some of the animated toys for my toy shop scene. Having completed the toy train I am now moving on to make one of several teddy bears.  The first thing that I did to create this bear was to make a sphere for the head and shrink it on the z axis to make it less rounded, then I moved on to the body for which I used the same technique, but this time I made it a little bigger. The next step was to make the arms and the legs which again meant using a sphere, I extruded the bottom vertex which made it more cylindrical in shape. For the top vertex I shrunk it on the x axis, I then went back to the bottom vertex  and moved it up on to the z axis to create a hole to form the end of the teddy bears paw, which I then filled with a flattened sphere  to complete the end of the paw, this I then duplicated three more times to create two arms and two legs. For th...

Fifth Week Blog Post for Project

Project Blog Week Five: This is my  fifth blog post for my modeling project, I have started to make the animated toy shop scene by creating a toy train. Previously I mentioned that I modified a train I had already made and created a traditional carriage, an  open top freight car and two  well wagons, these I  then filled with goods. I also stated that I was going to make smoke come out of the engine funnel and animated the train so that it would move. Firstly I started creating the smoke by selecting the quick effect on the object tab, this produced smoke around the train which I had to shape to the right size and put over the engine funnel to give a realist steam train effect. The last thing I had to do was to make the train move, this was done by selecting certain numbered frames for example 10 and then creating location key frames on the animation bar, while physically moving the train a little bit at a time and then repeating this pro...

Fourth Week Blog Post for Project

Project Blog Week Four: This is my fourth blog post for my modeling project, I have decided to make an animated toy shop scene which hopeful will act like a Pixar short film. On my previous blog I mentioned that I would first create  a train as I had already made one for a practice task. I thought I would use this example as a starting point and create  traditional carriages such as a passenger carriage, a freight car and well wagons or well cars as they are sometimes known. The first carriage after the engine is the passenger carriage, this was made by creating a series of sections on top of one another to form a box shape, I then added two windows on each side by applying flat planes to the box carriage, which gives the impression that they have been painted on. Then I moved on to the second carriage which was the open top freight car, created using sections to form an open box shape, I then added black sphere shapes to fill the car. My last two carriages were ...

Third Week Blog Post for Project

Project Blog Week Three: This is my third blog post for the modelling project that I will be creating, I have decided to make a toy shop scene which will  include animation. On the previous post I talked about  the various ideas I had thought about including in  my animated toy shop and one of the ideas  was a toy train, to make this I decided to use the train I had made in Jame's lesson in Maya as a practice task. I decided to modify the original train as it was done in very dark colours and I thought that for a toy train it would be much better in light, bright colour, so I changed the carriage colours from dark green to alternative bright colours such as red, yellow, blue and green. Whe n it came to the wheels they were originally grey with red centres, I changed them to black wheels with silver centre pieces to make them look more like toy train wheels. Then I move d onto the engine cab, this was also dark green with a black roof which I thought was a bit dar...
