Eleventh Week Blog Post for Project

Image
Project Blog Week Eleven: This  is my eleventh blog post for my modelling project, I went on to try and make a stuffed elephant with a little stuffed mouse. This was going quite well and I managed to create the basic shapes but I couldn't find a reference image for these model so it made it almost impossible to create these toys, so I thought it was better to scrap this idea and do something else. I decided to make cute fur ball monsters with large eyes in bright colours such as blues and pinks. Again this started well and I created the fur ball shape but when I looked at it through the rendered view it wasn't really fluffy at all and I could not get the eyes to look right. So I discarded this idea and  went on to try and create Thor's Hammer Mjolnir in a plastic looking material suitable for children. I managed to create the large rectangular shape for the top of the hammer and cut this in half, but when I tried to mirror this object it did not work at all it just dup...

Tenth Week Blog Post for Project

Project Blog Week Ten: This  is my tenth blog post for my modelling project, this time I decided to make some toy cars as I thought they would be a nice addition to the toy vehicles I have already made. To create this I first made a rectangle shape for the body of the car, then I used a mirror modifier which mirrors the opposite side, so that I only had to make one side of the car. I then pulled up a section of the face to create the roof. To form the lights , windscreen, windows, rear windows and grill, I clicked the extrude button for the selected faces but did not actually extrude the face. Then I shrunk in one of the faces but only slightly and pressed Ctrl+E (the extrude button) to push in the face to create the lights and a window effect. To make the front and rear bumpers I used the extrude button but did not pull anything out, I simply left clicked to deselect the face of the front bumper section, then pressed Alt+S to alternatively scale this ...

Ninth Week Blog Post for Project

Project Blog Week Nine: This  is my ninth blog post for my modelling project, this time I moved onto making some toy blocks to be more precise children's learning blocks. Firstly I shrunk the faces of a cube then extruded each face to form a border. I then duplicated this process to create several different blocks and produced various letters and numbers using the text tool, which I then applied to the faces of the blocks. The actual blocks are a wooden texture but for the letters and numbers I decided to use various bright colours.    I then moved onto my next task which was to create an aeroplane. I started by making the body which was made by stretching out a sphere shape. The main wings and the smaller back wings were formed by flatting and stretching out a sphere and the rudder was made by doing the same process as before but then cutting it in half and placing it onto the back of the plane.  After that was done I created the cockpit area, firstly I put i...

Eighth Week Blog Post for Project

Project Blog Week Eight: This  is my eighth blog post for my modeling project, this time I moved onto making some toy UFO's. Firstly I created a sphere which I then flattened into a disc shape, next I created another sphere and placed it halfway into the disc shape to form the domed cockpit area. After this was done I had the basic flying saucer shape but I decided I wanted to add more detail, so I added fins to the back of the UFO by creating a cone shape which I flattened right down into a triangle shape. This I then placed at the back to create the fin effect. I then duplicated this UFO to create a second one. Having completed the two UFO's I added flattened spheres to the bottom of each one to create a circular shape forming a hatch for the aliens to leave and re-enter the ship. I then added two alien figures to the cockpit to make the toy more interesting.  Having done this I moved onto choosing the colours for the UFO's. For the domes I went for a yellow coloured...
