Twenty Four Week Blog Post for Project

Project Blog Week Twenty Four:

This is my twenty fourth blog post for my modelling project, on the previous blog post I had completed the two toy trucks to go in to the toy shop scene, I now decided to move on to create another toy. I looked at all of the toys I had already made and I realized that I didn't have many toys for girls, so I thought it would be a good to create one although I hadn't got any idea of what toy to make. I went on to the internet to see what toy I could create and I found soft toy elephants which were for young girls, so I decided to go with this toy. I started to create one of these elephants in the same way I created the teddy bears, simply because they were both in a sitting position and I thought it made sense to use the same tutorial again to help me make the basic body shape and the fur, leaving me to make the other bits from scratch. The first task, like the bears, was for me to create spheres for the head, body, legs, eyes and ears. I then set them to the right shape and size, once that was done I duplicated the leg shape three times to create both arms and the other leg, rotating them in different directions so that the legs pointed upwards and slightly outwards, the arms were also pointing outwards but not upward. The ears I made in the same way as the bears but I modified them to make them larger and more elephant like. The eyes were made of a sphere which I made smaller and then placed in to the right position for the eyes. I also joined the head to the body. The second task was to make the trunk for the elephant and then duplicate it for my second elephant, so I made the trunk out of two cylinders, I then shrunk down the top faces and put them together to form the whole trunk.  Having completed one elephant I duplicated the entire object to create a second one. The third task was to colour the two soft toy elephants, the eyes of both toys were coloured using a glossy black, the first elephant I coloured in a light pink and the second elephant I coloured dark purple. My final task was similar to the teddy bears where I added in a hair particle system to both elephants to create the fur. I also combed and puffed up the fur to make it look softy and fluffy.
