Fifteenth Week Blog Post for Project
Project Blog Week Fifteenth:
This is my fifteenth blog post for my modelling project, continuing where I left off on the previous post. I decided that the first task was to form more detail to the back of the car, so I selected the extruded inwards faces that were meant to replicate this detail. Because it needed to be pulled out as on the actual car it sticks out slightly, so I pressed E to extrude then I deselected it to create a new geometry, which I then shrunk down in size a bit and pulled out to create the detail at the back of the car. The second thing that I decided to work on was to create the roof. I did this by selecting all of the faces that make up the roof looking from the top view reference image, then I pulled it up a bit and then I pressed E to extrude to create a new geometry which I matched with the right view reference image. I then had to shrink it a little on the x axis and the whole object to create the basic shape of the roof. Having done this all I needed was a curve in the roof, which I did by selecting individual edges and pulling them up or pushing them down on the z axis using Proportional Edit tool to give the roof the curve it needed. The third and final thing I did was to add in some body detail to the car. This was done by selecting all of the faces that will make up this detail, then I created a new geometry. After that I pulled it up using G to move it then I selected the z axis and finally holding shift while moving it up I found I could move it more precisely to get the exact height I needed for this detail.
