Thirteenth Week Blog Post for Project
Project Blog Week Thirteen:
This is my thirteenth blog post for my modelling project. I continued to create the remote controlled sports car for the toy scene I am making. Last time I left this model with the wheels slotted in place but now I had to create the wheel arches, so I decided that it would be better to hide the wheels to make it easier to create these arches. Firstly I created the front wheel arch by deleting the square face where I wanted the arch to go, then I put loop edges in line with the vertices point of the flat wheel template. After this I created faces to make this space more rounded and not as square as it was. Then I selected the upper five edges of the wheel but left the bottom two and increased the size to match the reference image, and beveled it to give the arch a thickness. After all this was done I deleted the wheel template to form the wheel arch, it just needed to be extruded inwards to fill in all of the gaps create by deleting the square face. Finally I selected the whole arch to duplicate it to form the back wheel arch, but as the face was square some gaps appeared and again I had to fill these in by selecting the edges of the wheel arch and the square face, then holding shift I pressed 'E' to select the bridge edges tool to fill in all the gaps.
