Eighteenth Week Blog Post for Project

Project Blog Week Eighteenth:

This is my eighteenth blog post for my modelling project and continuing where I left off on the previous post I decided that, now the toy elephant and lion had been completed, I would move on to create a toy goat to add to the three animals I had already made. The body shape, head, legs, mouth and ears were already in place as I had already duplicated these using the lion format. The first task was to create the nose by first removing the  old nose from the toy lion and replacing it with the new one I had created. This was done by using the mouth section which I shrunk down to the right size, then I duplicated this section to form the nose which was more of a 'Y' shape than a round one. The second task was to add fur to the chin of the goat, this I did the the same way as the lions mane by adding in a hair particle system to an object. So in this case the object I created was an elongated sphere which I placed under the chin, this formed a small amount of hair on the object, then I clicked interpolated to create more hair. Once this was done I shorted the length to make it look better and I made it slightly wavy and static to make it look more realistic. The third task was to create the horns and to make the ears look more goat-like. The horns were created by using a cylinder which I rounded at the top and then shrunk in to create a cone shape. Then I duplicated this to create a second horn, and I put  them both into place on top of his head. I moved on to create the ears, which I did by stretching out a selected section using the proportional editing tool. The final task was to give the goat some colour, the two colours I chose were a dark grey and white. The legs and tail were dark grey and patches of the body were also, the main colour for the top of the body was white, the head had white and dark grey patches, the horns were coloured a cream colour and the fur on his chin was light grey and for the eyes I used a glossy black colour.
