Nineteenth Week Blog Post for Project
Project Blog Week Nineteenth:
This is my nineteenth blog post for my modelling project and I will continue where I left off on the previous post. Last time I had already finished two of the toy animals and was working on the third which is now also finished. I decided to include a fourth animal to complete the group and I thought a cheetah would be a good choice. I only had one task for the cheetah because the basic body shape was already in place, this was to texture the cheetah by creating the traditional spotty fur coat. I did this by using the fur texture image that I got from the internet, but when I unwrapped the texture it only seemed to work with the body area and not on the rest of the animal. I tried various things to solve this problem but nothing seemed to work, so I decided to scrap the idea of creating a cheetah and instead decided to make a black panther as I thought this would be more interesting. Having already got the basic body shape, the first task for this panther was to shrink the nose down a bit to make in stand out more than the lions, as well as adding in nostrils to the nose to give that extra detail. The final task was to give the panther colour, so for the body, legs, head, ears and tail I chose a diffused black to represent a black panther. The nose I coloured light grey to make the detail stand our more, the nostrils were coloured black so that they could be seen against the light grey and for the mouth area I chose a darker grey so that it could be seen and finally I selected a glossy light green martial for the eyes to really make it stand out from the other toys.
