Twenty Two Week Blog Post for Project

Project Blog Week Twenty Two:

This is my twenty second blog post for my modelling project, on the previous blog post I decided that I would make a toy crane and dumper truck to go into my toy shop scene which contains toys for all ages. The first toy out of these two options I decided to create was the dumper truck and I thought it would be a good idea to make it an early leaning toy for young children, as up till now I had only the toy blocks and the mobile phones. The first task in making this truck was to create a cube that would act as the drivers cab, then I made thinned down cubes that formed the front windscreen and side windows and put them into the right places. After this was done I put in the grill of the truck, the licence plate and the lights which were made out of cubes shaped to the right size, I then placed them all into the right sections on the truck. Then I shaped cubes into rectangular shapes to outline the front windscreen and the four side windows. I also created a few small steps at the bottom of both sides of the cab, acting as the stairs to allow access to the truck and then I made windscreen wipers out of cubes that I thinned down and then shrunk the top face down, I placed these onto the rectangular outline on the windscreen. The second task was to make the flatbed of the truck which will eventually hold the container. Having done this I went onto make a wheel out of a thinned sphere which I then duplicated and shrunk it down in size to create the hub, after this I duplicated the tyre and hub five time to create the other wheels, then all I had to do was to put them into the correct places. Also under the truck I created a wheel axle for each set of wheels which in this case is three. The third and final task was to colour the truck, so for the cab itself I coloured it in a bright yellow, as I thought toys like this are often in bright colours. For the windscreen and windows I chose a glossy blue, the grill section was white and the inner sections were black, the tyres of the wheels were black and the hubs were a glossy grey colour, the lights had a white and a red emission section and the indicators were coloured using an orange emission material.  The licence plate I coloured a darker yellow with black letters.
